How to apply for Clearing

Early applications - 5 July - 14 August 2025 

From 5 July, you can apply for a course with us through Clearing, provided you’re not already holding an offer elsewhere and the course has availability. 

If You Haven’t Applied Through UCAS:

1. Ensure you have your qualifications (if available).

2. Register with UCAS.

3. Complete your application.

4. Once submitted, add your Clearing choice to your UCAS profile.

If You’ve Already Applied Through UCAS:

1. Log in to your UCAS Hub.

2. Check if you have any offers, or if you’ve met the conditions of your offers.

3. Confirm if you have declined your place.

4. Add your Clearing choice to your UCAS application.

Applying on results day - 14 August 2025

A-Level (and BTEC) results day will be the busiest day for Clearing, but we have a large number of staff ready to take your calls. 

Morning: from 8am

• Your grades are released on the UCAS website
• If you did not get the grades you need your UCAS Hub status may say, 'In Clearing' or 'Clearing has started'.
• From 8am you can call you on 0208 411 5555
• If the course you want to do is full, similar courses may be available.

Afternoon: from 1pm

• You can add your Clearing choice onto UCAS from 1pm. This gives you time for research before you make any decisions
• If you received various offers from multiple universities, you can only accept one offer. 
• To accept the offer, you need to add the university and its details onto - 'Add a Clearing Choice' in your UCAS Hub, inside the section - 'Your Choice'
